Environmental Services

What & How

At DMC Engineering Inc., our environmental services are built on a deep respect for land, water, and community — especially in the context of climate change and Indigenous collaboration. We provide practical, science-based solutions that help clients navigate regulatory requirements, protect sensitive ecosystems, and plan for long-term resilience. Our environmental consulting work spans:

Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs)

Evaluating potential effects of development on land, water, air, and biodiversity—integrating climate projections and cumulative impacts.

Permitting & Regulatory Support

Coordinating with provincial and federal agencies to meet environmental approvals, including BC’s Environmental Assessment Act and Fisheries Act compliance.

Contaminated Site Investigations

Phase I and II ESAs, remediation planning, and risk assessments for brownfield redevelopment and legacy industrial sites.

Habitat & Ecosystem Studies

Supporting restoration, offsetting, and monitoring programs—often in collaboration with Indigenous communities and environmental scientists.

Climate Change Adaptation & Resilience Planning

Helping clients understand and respond to shifting baselines, extreme weather, and ecological change through data-driven strategies.

Working with First Nations We recognize that environmental stewardship is inseparable from Indigenous rights and knowledge. Our team works respectfully with First Nations to incorporate traditional ecological knowledge, support community-led monitoring, and align with frameworks like the BC First Nations Climate Strategy. Responsive, Pragmatic, and Place-Based Whether it’s a remote infrastructure project, an urban redevelopment, or a watershed-scale study, our approach is agile and grounded. We tailor our work to the unique environmental, cultural, and regulatory context of each site—because no two landscapes, or communities, are the same. DMC’s environmental consulting is about more than compliance—it’s about contributing to a future where development and ecological integrity go hand in hand.
